The Memoir Join UnCabaret at the Mark Taper Auditorium to open the Made in LA Festival

Sunday March 13

Beth Lapides hosts a FREE daytime UnCabaret this week to kick off the Made in LA Festival in the beautiful Mark Taper Auditorium of the Downtown Main Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.  Laughter, giggling, chortling and applause will not be shushed!!

  • Rebecca Corry   Stupendously funny of the storytelling kind. You’ve seen Rebecca (One Big Happy, Comedy Central Presents) many times on the UnCab stage.
  • Magnolia Memoir Bold, bracing and cinematic, Magnolia Memoir is the stunningly raw & angelic voice of Mela Lee, with vintage keys, b3 and vibes from Alexander Burke. Magnolia Memoir is a perfect mix of beauty, pain, redemption and revolution.  They’ve been described as, “Fiona Apple meets the Killers with a dash of the Clash” and “Adele meets the Black Keys” but they remain defiantly, singular and unique.
  • Zach Sherwin Comedian and rapper.  Crazy Ex-Girlfirend. Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, The Pete Holmes Show, he is a staff writer for the immensely popular YouTube series Epic Rap Battles of History. Zach’s own music videos have been viewed millions of times online, and his first two albums are available on Comedy Central.
  • Alec Mapa  America’s Gayasian Sweetheart Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, Showtime special Alec Mapa: Baby Daddy based on his award-winning solo show that irreverently chronicled his journey to fatherhood via foster adoption.
  • Justin Sayre  An UnCabaret BFF,  Justin has been described as “Oscar Wilde meets Whoopi Goldberg,” but he’s a one of a kind storyteller. And a belter too! In LA from NY, he’s a writer on 2 Broke Girls, author of young adult fiction Husky. You’ve seen him on The Comeback.  Justin can do it all!  See him live.
